Fee and appointment policies

 

Services are provided on an appointment only basis.

 

An individual psychotherapy session lasts for 45 minutes.

Couples and Family sessions go for 60 minutes.

 

The first step is to schedule an initial consultation which takes place over one or two appointments.

 

At the initial consultation, we will go over the concerns that led you to seek psychological services and discuss whether psychotherapy would be helpful and what approach I might take to address your particular concerns.

 

By the end of the initial consultation with any therapist, you should expect three things:

1. You feel  respected and understood by me.

2. That I understand your concerns from your point-of-view.

3. That I have the expertise to help you.

 

I require at least 24 hours notice of any cancellation and I will charge for any appointment not canceled within 24 hours before the session.

 

 

Insurance

 

I do not participate in managed care plans. However, most plans have out-of-network benefits. I will work with you and your insurance company to facilitate your receiving prompt reimbursement for the portion of the fee that your company covers.

 

Why go out of network?

 

My contract is directly with you, not your insurance company. Treatment goals, approach, and duration are decided by us and are kept confidential, unless you authorize otherwise directly  to me.

I can give you my full undivided attention and the benefit of my decades of experience in ways that I otherwise couldn't.
