The role of psychotherapy and other psychological services in the Covid-19 pandemic.
TelePsychology basically means conducting psychotherapy through a video (similar to Facetime or WhatsApp) or a phone connection.
Three areas that can be addressed using TelePsychology are:
Coping with the tremendous psychological and emotional impact of the pandemic itself, of prolonged quarantine, economic hardship, loss of many coping resources, and profound questions about one’s values and priorities.
Continuation of psychotherapy and self-improvement that was already happening before all of this hit.
Opportunities for personal growth and transformation that have been created by the world being on “pause”. Nobody has chosen this, however some people are making the best use of this disconnect from the office, from the world, commuting, etc. as a time of personal reflection and change.
To begin a TelePsychology consultation, take the following steps:
1. Reach out to me either through the contact form or calling me at the number at the top of the page. I will get right back to you to arrange a time for us to meet and to answer any questions you have about me or the process.
2. Download and fill out the Telehealth Consent Form
3. At your arranged time, make sure to be in a private space with a reliable Internet connection. The first consultation will take about an hour and there will be plenty of space to share what's on your mind. You don't need to prepare anything, If you don't know what to say, I will help guide you through the process so that together we will develop an understanding of what brings you in and how I might be able to help.
